I want to help students learn for their present and into their future so that every student has the same opportunities for their future regardless of their socio-economic status by providing in-class support through differentiated learning, connecting classwork to real-world applications, and enhancing student confidence with scaffolding.

Purpose

As educators, we are often asking students to do things outside of their comfort zone and create ways to make themselves stand out. Developing a digital portfolio is one of the things I help students develop throughout their time with me in high school. Business is a diverse and collaborative field. Students can be passionate about any career path and still find value in business classes. Giving students ownership of their learning through leadership and real world experiences like running a student based enterprise. Career Technical Education is also a constantly evolving field in order to be industry relevant and provide students the best work based learning opportunities possible. Working in a department of educators who are also experts in their industry opens the door for wonderful collaboration opportunities for all staff but also for students. Learning and developing the relevancy of core content in our CTE classes can completely change the trajectory of a students' life.
